The dan moi is a traditional Vietnamese copper jaw harp with double reed. Because of the double spring, it has a strong and clean sound. It has a very beautiful sound in low registers and is very easy to play. It is supplied in bamboo of different colours covered with a patterned weave. The advantage of dan moi over traditional dorombs is that it is small, easy to play, does not need to be pressed against the tooth, and is rich in overtones. The disadvantages are that they are generally not tuned, have a shorter life, are quieter, and are not suitable for dynamic playing and varied playing techniques.
